Food
Intolerance
This means
any adverse reaction to food where involvement of the immune system
is not proven, because skin and blood tests and other tests for
allergy are negative.
Although this is a controversial area, studies have now shown
that the food intolerance is involved in diseases and conditions
such as irritable bowel syndrome, migraine, arthritis, Crohn's
disease, and hyperactivity. These are only a few of
the conditions which respond well to an elimination diet. The
only sure way to discover if a food is causing symptions is to
eliminate it from the diet, then reintroduce it slowly, monitoring
the symptons. |
